CHILD DEDICATION

A Sacred Moment of Faith, Commitment, and Blessing

At Miracle Temple Ministries, we believe children are a precious gift from God. Child Dedication is a meaningful and joyful service in which parents publicly commit to raising their child according to God’s Word, while the church family commits to support and pray for the child and parents.

~“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.” – Psalm 127:3

 

We count it an honor to partner with you as you raise your child in the ways of the Lord. Our prayer is that your child will grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and people (Luke 2:52).

What is it?

What Is Child Dedication?

Child Dedication is a meaningful service where parents publicly commit to guiding their child toward a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. While it is not baptism, it is a powerful declaration of faith, love, and intentional parenting, following biblical examples found in Scripture (1 Samuel 1:27–28; Luke 2:22).

During the dedication service:

  • Parents commit to raising their child in a Christ-centered home

  • Pastors pray God’s blessing, wisdom, and protection over the child

  • The congregation commits to support the family in love, prayer, and example

This is a beautiful moment of unity between family, church, and God.

Expectations

Parental Expectations

Parents requesting Child Dedication are asked to:

  • Should be willing to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, if not already a born again believer

  • Commit to living a Christian example before their child

  • Teach biblical values through prayer, devotion, and daily living

  • Faithfully support the spiritual growth of their child within the church

Participation

Who Can Participate?

Child Dedication is available to:

  • Infants and young children

  • Parents or guardians who are committed or willing to commit to Christian discipleship

  • Families connected to or intending to connect to Miracle Temple Ministries

  • Complete the Child Dedication Application

  • Submit the application by the stated deadline (minimum 2 weeks before requested date)

  • Attend any required orientation or meeting

  • Receive confirmation from the church office

Child Dedication services are held on scheduled Sundays throughout the year. Families are encouraged to invite relatives and friends to share in this special celebration.

All participating families must complete a Child Dedication Application prior to the service.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Is Child Dedication the same as baptism?

No. Child Dedication is not baptism. It is a public commitment by parents to raise their child in a Christ-centered home. Baptism is a personal decision made when an individual is old enough to confess faith in Jesus Christ.

What age can my child be dedicated?

​Child Dedication is available for infants and young children.

Do parents need to be members of Miracle Temple Ministries?

Families should be connected to Miracle Temple Ministries. If you are not yet a member, our pastoral team would be happy to speak with you.

Do we need to attend a class or meeting?

Some dedication services may require a brief orientation or meeting. Details will be shared once your application is received.

Can family and friends attend?

Absolutely! We encourage you to invite family and friends to celebrate this special moment with you.
